All successful people have desire, passion and persistence in pursuing their goals and dreams way past what others feel is logical and prudent. Success is often defined and created by the illogical and delusional state of mind that many cannot understand. Success is created more by the delusional passion of persistence than by brilliance.

Successful people often work in ways and in hours of effort that most cannot fathom. Successful people often risk finances, health, security, family time, recreation, mental health and more in pursuit of their goals. Successful people are often described as being greedy, selfish, workaholics, delusional, obsessed, unbalanced and too serious. If you were to define the price that is often paid for success, many would not deem the price as worth paying. Many would deem paying the price as anything but smart.

Universities are full of brilliant professors who may not be successful. Graduating Cum Laude or with a great GPA does not guarantee your success. Brilliance is not a requirement for success and can often be an obstacle. Brilliant people understand limitations and lack of resources. Brilliant people may be driven towards great logic in their decision making process and their actions. Successful people often must defy logic and take actions that seem absolutely crazy to others.

Successful people often understand that brilliance has many forms. There can be great brilliance in passionately pursuing what others can’t see or understand. Sometimes brilliance is knowing that all is right while everything appears anything but right. Sometimes brilliance is defying and denying anything and everything other than what you believe and want. Sometimes the greatest brilliance comes in the form of delusion.
